The inviting cover of this book with its browns and greens immediately brings to mind a mature tree planted by streams of living water. That perfectly symbolizes how Christians long to become mature in their faith. This is another in the Deep Rooted series by Kathy Howard which starts with a basic knowledge of a Bible book and builds on what one knows by asking in depth questions that require digging deep in the Word and finding areas of unexpected growth. I can not get enough of Kathy’s studies and find each to be enriching for my personal growth and also in helping me along the goal to being a disciple who makes disciples.

The length of the study is 50 days, but it can be gone through more quickly or paced for a lengthier study with a group. I enjoy doing a study by myself at my own pace and then later going through it with a group which adds so much more through discussion and seeing things from others prrspectives.

I can fully engage with the material through the effective 4 R method of Read, Record, Reflect, and Respond. Each day’s reading in the guide begins with a Bible verse that could be used as a memory verse, but I like to select a weekly verse to memorize or hide in my heart.

I treasure my Bible study daily with Kathy both online and in her books. It has been a daily part of my life for a number of years now. Personally, I have found her guidance to be better than any other I have tried.
