Saturday, Day 5 of my blogging adventure, and I have so much to learn. I begin to feel like a child again each time I start learning something new. Isn’t it clever of God to let even elderly people have a sense of newness when their minds wander up a fresh learning path?
God wants us to relate to Him as a child relates to his or her father. He holds authority over all people for He is the One Creator God. His word, spoken by Jesus, states, “Assuredly, I say to you, ‘whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.'” (Mark 10:15) If we approach God’s word with a know-it-all heart that thinks I will read this and see if it lines up with my thinking then we are not really opening up to accepting God as our Father and Higher Authority.
Every day I have an opportunity to approach God’s word with the heart of a child ready to learn something new. I am eager to see what new tidbit of wisdom I can learn and apply to my life. I am excited to see some better way of expressing love that He may show me in my reading. And I want all of my learning throughout my days to be touched with the freshness of His worldview whatever the subject may be.
How do you feel God touches your learning experiences each day? Do you approach your Bible reading time with the heart of a child eager to receive the gifts your Father has for you?
