Review Title: Amazing Devotional (review of Earth Psalms by Francine Rivers)

***** 5 Stars
What an amazing devotional book to read and let your thoughts ponder. Most people love to get out in God’s creation to feel closer to Him. The beautiful photography will take you there from the comfort of where you are reading. The subtitle, “reflections on how God speaks through nature,” appropriately whets the reader’s appetite for the pages that follow.
The author, Francine Rivers, known best for crafting classics in the Christian genre, uses words impeccably to complement photographic visual feasts . The combination of words and art bring a sense of awe and God’s glory to every page.
The book has a chapter per week, but the reader has the choice to pace differently. The elegant cover makes it “a keeper” for the coffee table at home or in a waiting area for clients.
The format of each chapter includes: 1) Bible verse, 2) devotional reading, 3) a relevant quotation, 4) questions for reflection, 5) suggestion for application, 6) a prayer, and 7) an ending Scripture verse. Add to that the gorgeous photography and a sprinkling of interesting notes on little known facts about the world of nature, and you will feel you’ve acquired a treasure to go back and read yearly.
I thank the author, publisher, and bookfun.org for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review. The book can be used by all including parents of young children who want to discuss nature with them. Advise: put this on your shelf labeled Cherished Books (if not on your coffee table).
